I have a collection of different types of milkweeds in my mother's garden, the better to feed the monarchs with... My favorite is the unfortunately named Swamp Milkweed, which is pretty, neat and smells wonderful. And is apparently pretty tasty to monarch caterpillars, since they tend to prefer it over all of the others.

My entry for the weekly contest "Larve" at =NaturPics-club and the first thing i've uploaded in way too long. Kudos for the club for inspiring me to dig this out.

I always liked monarch butterflies. We used to raise the caterpillars at the start of every school year when we were kids.
Now....we have milkweeds, and see adult butterflies. But no caterpillars.
It's nice to see a photo of one. There's nothing that looks like a milkweed caterpillar. :D NICE photo. :)
